A heavy metal manufacturer Tampella was est. in 1861, and it’s one of the oldest industrial companies in Finland. It manufactured wide assortment of products from guns to locomotives. The multifunctional company was divided after the recession in the early 1990’s. Different businesses were sold to several companies, for example Patria, Enso-Gutzeit, Kvaerner and Valmet. The last remaining parts of Tampella are still active as a part of the Swedish Sandvik.
The share of Tampella was listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange from 1912 to 1998.
