Roibox was established in 1984 to improve the invention of Mr. Pertti Puumalainen. He and his exploration group had developed a camera-based detector, which sensored the quality of the paper manufacturing process.
In 1994 Roibox was sold to American Measurex Ltd, which was later bought by Honeywell. Later, in Kuopio and Varkaus was located the global research centre of paper industry measuring of the Honeywell concern.
Roibox was ”almost listed” company. The banking house Keitele & Tommila tried to bring Roibox into the OTC-list of the Helsinki exchange in 1985, but the issue was unsuccessful.
