Villayhtymä was formed in 1960, when several textile mills were combined. The operating turned unprofitable, and the majority of the shares drifted to Pohjoismaiden Yhdyspankki (PYP Bank, now a part of Nordea). Villayhtymä was bankrupted in 1969.
The business of Villayhtymä was transferred into new company called Hyvilla Oy. That one was active until 1978, but problems weren’t overtaken. Furthermore, the business was transferred once more to Valvilla Oy, which was actually a subsidiary of the state of Finland. Also Valvilla was bankrupted in 1993.
The share of Villayhtymä was listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange from 1960 until the bankruptcy in 1969.
