A wholesaler company Sampo was established in 1898 by peasants. It operated in Seinäjoki and Vaasa in Ostrobothnia region until the 1960’s. In addition to trade, Sampo roasted also coffee in Vaasa.

Nature of business: Import trade, wholesale.

Share certificate is drawn by Mr. Matti Visanti. The picture illustrates the defence of the Sampo. Sampo was a magical artefact in Finnish mythology, and it has a fundamental role in the Finnish national epic Kalevala.
