A meat processing company, which was established in 1975 as Maurin Liha Ltd. Nowadays it’s known as HKScan Ltd. It’s a united company of Finnish HK Ruokatalo and Swedish Scan Ab.
The history of HK is much older. LSO was originally an abbreviation of Lounais-Suomen Osuusteurastamo (Southwest Finland co-operative slaughter-house), which started in 1913. Today HKScan is a major meat processing and foodstuff company in Finland, Sweden, Baltic countries and Poland.
The share of LSO Food / HK has been listed in the Helsinki Stock Exchange since 1997.
